In Summary

Posta Rangers and Naivas FC battle for a place in the top flight on Saturday afternoon at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

With two of the three Kenya Premier League promotion places already filled by Nairobi United and APS Bomet, Saturday, 28 June 2025, provides an opportunity for the potential third promotion candidate to stake their claim for a place at the high table of Kenyan football.

Posta Rangers and Naivas FC battle for a place in the top flight on Saturday afternoon at the Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos, as the two sides dream of playing amongst the big boys come the 2025/26 season.

Kick off will be at 3 PM Kenyan time.

The two-legged affair will see the return leg played a week from today, Saturday 5 July 2025, with the overall aggregate winner securing their spot amongst the big boys. The clash pits the third-worst team in the KPL against the third-best team in the second tier.

Naivas finished third in the second-tier Super League behind the aforementioned Nairobi United and Bomet, while Posta Rangers were third from bottom in the KPL, above the doomed FC Talanta and Nairobi City Stars.

Naivas will be attempting their second promotion playoff following their loss to Sofapaka at the end of the 2023/24 season and their coach, Elvis Ayany, is hopeful this year will be their time.

"We have prepared sufficiently for this clash. They have more experience but we are ready and we look forward to trying again this year, he said ahead of the clash.

On his part, experienced Posta Rangers head coach Sammy Pamzo Omolo expects his players to thrive in a clash that demands accountability and execution..

"We will face a good and determined team but my players can show that they deserve to be in the KPL next season by playing well and winning," he said.

Posta Rangers will hope that their second experience in the playoffs will be positive once more, following a similar success over Nairobi Stima back in the 2018/19 season, where they prevailed 2-0 on aggregate.
